AIR BAG Warning Light & Wiring Harness Test

  1. Ensure ignition switch is off. Ensure connectors Yellow AB1 and B31 are making good connection and are locked. Turn ignition switch off. Connect body harness connector B31 to connector 1A of test harness "A".
  2. Connect battery cables. Turn ignition switch on. Connect connectors 3A and 4A. If air bag warning light is off, go to next step. If air bag warning light is on, inspect body wiring harness and repair if necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait 20 seconds. Reconnect connectors AB1 and B31. Remove instrument panel lower cover and disconnect 3-pin Yellow AB3 and AB8. Disconnect connector AB6 from air bag control unit. Connect connector AB6 to test harness "B2" connector 8B.
  4. Connect negative battery cable and turn ignition switch on. Connect connectors 6B and 7B. If air bag warning light comes on, return to step 3). If air bag warning light does not come on, replace air bag main wiring harness.
NOTE: When problem has been corrected, disconnect connectors 6B and 7B.
