Oil Pan: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove intake air duct. Disconnect front oxygen sensor harness connector located below intake air duct. Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Disconnect rear oxygen sensor harness connector (if equipped).
  2. Remove pitching stopper (torque bar). Remove upper radiator brackets. Install engine lifting device and raise engine enough to take weight off engine mounts. Drain engine oil. Disconnect rear oxygen sensor jumper harness connector. Separate front catalytic converter from center exhaust pipe. Remove front exhaust pipe bracket bolt and flange nuts, then remove front exhaust pipe.
  3. Remove front engine mount-to-crossmember nuts. Remove remaining crossmember bolts and crossmember. Remove oil pan bolts. Using gasket cutter blade inserted between oil pan and engine block, cut through sealant and remove oil pan. DO NOT use screw-driver or pry bar to remove oil pan.
  4. Remove oil pick-up brace clamp strap and remove oil pick-up. Remove oil pick-up brace and baffle. Remove all sealant from oil pan and engine block.
