DTC 11: Brake/Stop Light, Clutch & Inhibitor Switches

  1. Check Signal Using Subaru Select Monitor Or Equivalent Scan Tool

    Turn ignition switch and cruise control main switch on. Apply parking brake. Perform real-time diagnosis. See REAL-TIME DIAGNOSIS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Check brake/stop light and clutch (M/T) or inhibitor (A/T) signals. If LED lights do not respond as described, go to next step. If LED lights respond as described, check for disconnected components.
  2. Check Brake/Stop Light Switch

    Check brake/stop light switch. See BRAKE/STOP LIGHT SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, go to step 3) if working on M/T model or go to step 4) if working on A/T model. If switch is defective, replace brake/stop light switch.
  3. Check Clutch Switch

    Check clutch switch. See CLUTCH SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is defective, replace clutch switch. If switch is okay, check fuses and harness for opens and/or shorts. If fuses and harness are okay, replace cruise control module.
  4. Check Inhibitor Switch

    Check inhibitor switch. See INHIBITOR SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is defective, replace inhibitor switch. If switch is okay, check fuses and harness for opens and/or shorts. If fuses and harness are okay, replace cruise control module.
