Horn Signal
- Access security control module harness connector without disconnecting module harness connector. Set security system. See ARMING SYSTEM
under OPERATION. Set off alarm by opening door without using key. Using voltmeter, backprobe between terminal No. 13 (Red/Gray wire) at security control module harness connector and ground. SeeFigure
. If voltage pulses from one volt or less to 10 volts or greater, go to next step. If voltage does not pulse from one volt or less to 10 volts or greater, check the following.
- Remove horn relay. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire) at horn relay harness connector. SeeFigure
. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
- Disconnect security control module harness connector. Measure resistance in Red/Gray wire between horn relay harness connector and security control module harness connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance greater than 10 ohms, repair open in Red/Gray wire.
- Check horn relay. See HORN RELAY
under COMPONENT TESTS. If horn relay is not defective, replace security control module. If horn relay is defective, replace horn relay.
