AIR BAG Warning Light & Wiring Harness Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug 7-pin Yellow connector AB1 from body wiring harness connector B58. Connector is located behind left kick panel. Plug connector B58 into connector 1A of test harness "A". See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition on. Plug connector 3A of test harness "A" into connector 4A of test harness "A". Observe AIR BAG warning light. If AIR BAG warning light is off, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning light is on, inspect body wiring harness and repair as necessary. If body wiring harness is okay, replace AIR BAG warning light. After repair is completed, unplug connectors 3A and 4A.
  3. Turn ignition off. Plug connector AB1 into connector B58. Remove driver-side lower trim panel from dash. Disconnect AB3 with AB8. Disconnect Unplug connector AB6 from control unit. Plug connector AB6 into connector 8B of test harness "B2". See Figure .
  4. Turn ignition on. Plug connector 6B of test harness "B2" into connector 7B of test harness "B2". Observe AIR BAG warning light. If AIR BAG warning light is off, go to GROUND CIRCUIT TEST below. If AIR BAG warning light is on, replace air bag main wiring harness. After repair is completed, separate connectors 6B and 7B.
