Crankshaft & Connecting Rod Inspection

  1. Inspect crankshaft for cracks. Check crankshaft runout at center journal and journal out-of-round. Repair or replace crankshaft if it is not within specification. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Check connecting rod for bend and twist. Measure crankpin and piston pin bore inside diameter. Replace connecting rod if it is not within specification. See CONNECTING RODS SPECIFICATIONS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
