Loyale, XT & XT6
- Turn ignition off. Replace temperature gauge if gauge indicates below COLD. Turn ignition on. Note if fuel gauge is operating correctly. If fuel gauge is operating correctly, proceed to step 3).
- If fuel gauge is not operating correctly, check for defective fuse. Replace fuse if defective. If fuse is okay, check for 12 volts on temperature gauge terminal on back of instrument cluster. If voltage does not exist, repair wiring to instrument cluster. If voltage exists, replace temperature gauge.
- If fuel gauge operates correctly, connect a 42-ohm resistor between Yellow/Green wire and ground at temperature gauge sending unit. If temperature gauge indicates 187°F (86°C), replace sending unit.
- If temperature gauge does not indicate 187°F (86°C), ensure 7 volts exists on Yellow/Green wire at sending unit. If 7 volts exists, replace temperature gauge.
- If 7 volts does not exist at sending unit, check for 7 volts on Yellow/Green wire of 12-pin connector (Loyale) or Yellow/Green wire of 21-pin connector (XT and XT6) at rear of instrument cluster.
- If 7 volts does not exist at instrument cluster, replace temperature gauge. If 7 volts does exist, check wiring between instrument cluster and sending unit. Repair as necessary.
