Loyale, XT & XT6

  1. Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge does not move, check voltage supply for fuel gauge. Replace fuse if defective. If fuse is okay, check for 12 volts at terminal on back of fuel gauge.
  2. If voltage does not exist, check for defective wiring harness. Repair wiring as necessary. If voltage exists, remove electrical connector from fuel tank sending unit.
  3. Connect a 7-ohm resistor between Black/Yellow wire and ground of fuel tank sending unit. If fuel gauge reads FULL, replace fuel tank sending unit.
  4. If fuel tank does not read FULL, check for 12 volts at Black/Yellow wire at fuel tank sending unit. If voltage exists, replace fuel gauge. If voltage did not exist, check for voltage at Black/Yellow wire on back of instrument cluster.
  5. If 12 volts exists, repair defective wiring between instrument cluster and fuel tank sending unit. If voltage did not exist, replace fuel gauge.
