Removal & Installation (2WD Except Legacy)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Remove caliper from support bracket, and wire aside. Remove pads and support bracket from rear axle housing. Remove hub dust cap and nut from rear axle shaft. Slide hub/rotor assembly with wheel bearing components off axle shaft.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten wheel bearing nut to 36 ft. lbs. (49 N.m). Back nut off approximately 1/8 turn until hub rotating starting torque, measured using a spring scale, is 1.87-3.20 lbs. (.85-1.45 kg). Bend over lock washer and install dust cap.
