Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Remove timing belts. See TIMING BELT under CAMSHAFT. On turbo models, remove turbo coolant line from cylinder head. On all models, remove camshaft and components. See CAMSHAFT.
  2. Remove alternator and mounting bracket. Remove A/C compressor (if equipped). Remove adjusting bar-to-cylinder head bolt (except A/C models). Remove intake and exhaust manifolds. Remove coolant by-pass pipe bracket at cylinder head. Remove spark plugs. Remove cylinder head bolts, cylinder head and gasket.
