Water Pump: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove radiator hose, coolant by-pass hose, air vent hose and coolant pipe. Remove oil dipstick and tube. Remove water pump pulley.
  2. Loosen belt tensioner pulley. Remove water pump drive belt and pulley. Remove A/C compressor, alternator and bracket. Remove crankshaft pulley and front timing belt covers. Remove water pump bolts, water pump and gasket.
CAUTION: DO NOT allow coolant to spill on timing belts.
