Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower under covers. Remove radiator shroud assembly. It may be necessary to remove A/C condenser fan shroud. Remove oil dipstick and tube.
  2. Remove drive belts. It may be necessary to remove A/C compressor (if equipped). Remove water pump pulley. Loosen oil pump pulley retaining bolts. Remove timing belts. See TIMING BELT under CAMSHAFT.
  3. Remove left camshaft sprocket. Remove left timing belt rear covers. Remove oil pump assembly and gasket.
