Except Justy

  1. Before adjusting Hill-Holder, ensure clutch pedal free play is within specifications. Free play at clutch pedal should be .40-.79" (10-20 mm). If not within specifications, adjust clutch by turning adjusting nut on engine side of clutch cable release fork.
  2. Check stopping and starting performance by activating Hill-Holder on an uphill road with more than 3 degree inclination. If vehicle does not stop, tighten PHV cable.
NOTE: Hill-Holder may not activate on a very small hill.
  3. If Hill-Holder releases too late (engine tends to stall), loosen adjusting cable at clutch release fork in small increments until smooth starting is possible. If Hill-Holder releases too early (vehicle slips backwards slightly), tighten cable in small increments until smooth starting is possible.
  4. To adjust Hill-Holder to apply on a smaller hill, insert Shim (725807000) between side frame and PHV support bracket (raising front of PHV). Shims are .024" (.6 mm) thick and will increase PHV angle 1/2 degree. DO NOT raise front of PHV excessively. Never insert more than one shim at a time.
