Removal & Installation

  1. Using Valve Guide Remover/Installer (399762103), drive valve guide out from the combustion chamber side of cylinder head.
  2. Position cylinder head with combustion chamber downward. Place Valve Guide Adjuster (899768603) over valve guide bore of cylinder head.
  3. Coat valve guide with oil. Using valve guide remover/installer, install valve guide until upper end of valve guide is even with upper surface of valve guide adjuster.
  4. Check valve guide protrusion. Valve guide protrusion should be .689-.728" (17.50-18.49 mm) above valve spring seat. Ream valve guide to obtain proper clearance.
