Intake Manifold: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Drain coolant and disconnect all hoses from manifold.
  2. Disconnect throttle cable, vacuum lines, fuel lines and electrical connections to manifold and label. Remove distributor and wires. Remove alternator and air cleaner bracket.
  3. Loosen both ends of EGR pipe and remove from rear of manifold. Remove manifold-to-cylinder head bolts, and remove manifold.
