Cam Lobe Lift Measurement

Measure camshaft lobe height. Standard lobe height is 1.269-1.273" (32.24-32.34 mm) for camshafts used with solid lifters. Standard lobe height is 1.413-1.417" (35.90-36.00 mm) for camshafts used with hydraulic lifters. Wear limit specification is .006" (.15 mm). If camshaft wear exceeds specification, camshaft replacement is necessary.
