Fuel & Temperature Gauges

Disconnect connector from sending unit. Connect the appropriate resistor to connector wire, and ground resistor to body. Gauge should illuminate the number of segments indicated in TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE CHECK  table. On XT Coupe, the fuel gauge unit in fuel tank produces a voltage corresponding to fuel amount in tank. This voltage is transmitted to the digital meter and is converted into a digital signal through the A/D circuit. The signal is then transmitted from the LCD drive terminal built into microcomputer to operate 10-segment bar graph display. SeeFig 1 . When less than 2 segments shows on display, the low fuel warning light illuminates. VDD refers to voltage produced across positive and negative terminals. SeeFig 1 .
