Removal & Inspection
- Crankshaft can be removed after cylinder block has been separated. Remove connecting rods. Clean crankshaft and use dye penetrant to inspect for cracks.
- Place crankshaft with front and rear journal resting in "V" blocks. Using a dial indicator on center journal, measure crankshaft runout. Correct or replace crankshaft if it exceeds specification. Using a micrometer, inspect crankshaft for excessive journal wear.
