Engine Oiling System: Notes
Oil is pressure fed by a timing belt driven trochoid type oil pump. Pump incorporates an oil relief and by-pass valve in its body. Oil pump is located externally on engine.
Oil from pump passes from main oil gallery to journals of crankshaft and camshafts. From there, oil goes to main bearings, piston pin bushings and cylinder walls. Oil passes through oil relief pipes to oil the rocker arms.
