Trip Computer

  1. The trip computer contains a test program to check for any malfunction of circuitry or display after power source has been connected. For 200 seconds after power is initially connected, all fluorescent display tubes will be illuminated.
  2. Pressing the "RESET" button during the first 200 seconds switches the display tube test program to shift test program, and numbers displayed should change. Pressing "Clock", "Timer", "Trip" or "Range" button during the processing of this test should result in contents corresponding to button pressed being displayed.
  3. If each display button is not pressed after the 200 second test period, trip computer will continue to display fuel quantity. With a full tank, resistance of fuel sender should be 5 ohms, and indication on trip computer should read 60-64.
  4. With tank half-full, resistance should be 60 ohms and trip computer should read 27-31. With empty tank, resistance should be 105 ohms and indication on trip computer should read 0-4. Arithmetic circuitry and display tube are okay if test is correctly performed.
