Removal (Turbo Models)

  1. Open and support hood. Remove spare tire. Decrease fuel pressure. Remove ground cable. Disconnect air temperature sensor connector and remove spare tire supporter.
  2. Remove fuel and evaporation hoses. Remove vacuum hoses and disconnect wiring. Remove link assembly and accelerator cable. Disconnect window washer tank and place behind right strut tower.
  3. Remove power steering pump assembly and place on bulkhead. Remove air duct and air flowmeter boot. Cover openings to keep out dirt and dust. Remove upper cover.
  4. Remove center exhaust pipe. Loosen bolts attaching converter cover and remove cover. Remove turbocharger body. Disconnect oxygen sensor connector.
  5. Remove torque converter to flex plate bolts. Remove nuts and bolts from upper joint of engine with transmission. Drain coolant and remove radiator assembly.
  6. Disconnect oil cooler hoses from pipe assembly. Disconnect heater hoses at engine. Remove front engine mount. Remove lower nuts joining engine to transmission. Connect sling to power steering bracket and pitching stopper bracket. Raise engine and remove from vehicle.
