Wheel Bearing: Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Press outer race of inner bearing into drum using Bearing Installer (925220000). Press outer race of outer bearing into drum using Bearing Installer (921130000). Stepped surface of the spacer must face toward the bearing. Use a new lockwasher and a new O-ring for dust cap.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten ring nut to 127-163 ft. lbs. (172-221 N.m). Lock the ring nut by staking a point on the housing surface facing the ring nut groove. Bleed brakes, and check rear wheel alignment.

NOTE: Always replace the bearings as a set, and always install a new oil seal and axle shaft spring pins.
