Wheel Bearing: Removal

  1. Remove hub carrier. See HUB CARRIER in this article. Remove rotor-to-hub retaining bolts. Remove rotor from hub flange. Remove grease cap. See Figure .
  2. Remove hub flange nut. Using press, remove hub flange from hub carrier. Place hub carrier in soft-jawed vise. Remove bearing retaining snap ring.
  3. Using press and Bearing Remover (18G 1533), press bearing from hub carrier. See Fig 1 .
