Wheel Bearing: Installation

  1. Pack wheel bearing with grease. Using press, Bearing Installer (18G 1354-2) and Base (18G 705-6), install bearing in hub carrier. See Figure .
  2. Install bearing retaining snap ring. Using press, install hub flange in hub carrier and bearing. Install new hub flange nut. Tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at end of article.
  3. Stake hub flange nut once tightened to specification. Install grease cap.
