Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.

Risk of accident 

After performing work on the hydraulic section of the brake system, an accident may occur due to a lack of braking effect upon the first operation of the service brake.

Safety precautions/instructions 

• After completing work on the hydraulic section of the brake system and before starting the engine, actuate the brake pedal several times until pressure is built up in the brake system.
• When pressure is built up in the brake system, the brake pedal must be held in this position for approx. 30 s to ensure that the pressure in the brake system does not drop.
