  6. Insert suspension strut between spacer ring (03) and lower clamping plate, and position spring cup (2) into spacer ring (03).
  7. Position mounting plate (02), as shown, and tighten clamp bolts (07) by hand until the mounting plate (02) makes contact with the front axle spring (1).
  8. Twist the front axle spring (1) so that the start of the spring coils (arrow) reaches the positioning dimension "H".
  9. Tension the front axle spring (1) until the positioning dimension "L2" is reached.

NOTES Check for correct positioning of front axle spring (1), behind guides of lower clamping plate.

Otherwise, the front axle spring (1) may work its way loose from the clamping plate.

  10. Tighten clamp bolts (07) with approx. 5 Nm.

NOTES Meet reference value of 5 Nm.

Otherwise, the suspension strut mount may be damaged or the front axle spring (1) may be twisted when tensioned.

  18. Position mounting plate (02), as shown, and tighten clamp bolts (07) by hand until the mounting plate (02) makes contact with the front axle spring (1).
  19. Twist the front axle spring (1) so that the start of the spring coils reaches the positioning dimension "H".
  20. Tighten clamp bolts (07) with approx. 5 Nm.

NOTES Meet reference value of 5 Nm.

Otherwise, the suspension strut mount may be damaged or the front axle spring (1) may be twisted when tensioned.

  21. Tension the front axle spring (1) until the positioning dimension "L3" is reached.

NOTES Check for correct positioning of front axle spring (1), behind guides of lower clamping plate (05).

Otherwise, the front axle spring (1) may work its way loose from the clamping plate (05).

NOTES Carefully tension front axle spring (1) and ensure it is not tensioned too far.

Otherwise, the mounting plate (02), may damage the front axle spring (1) through contact with the second spring coil.

22 Position spring seat (3) on front axle spring (1).

  22. Insert damper (4), counterhold piston rod and tighten nut of piston rod. TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    IMPORTANT Use a new nut.

IMPORTANT The guide (arrow A) of the spring seat (3) must be located in the recess (arrow B) of the damper (4).

  23. Relieve tension on front axle spring (1) until positioning dimension "L2" is reached.

NOTES Do not detension front axle spring (1) any further.

Otherwise, the mounting plates (01, 02) may be damaged.

  24. Remove mounting plate (02).
  25. Relieve tension on front axle spring (1) until positioning dimension "L1" is reached.
