Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. |

| 3 | Unscrew bolts (2) | ||
| 4 | Screw nuts (5) onto both threaded rods (4) with washers | ||
| 5 | Screw threaded rods (4) into threaded holes for screws (2) | ||
| 6 | Adjust distance dimension (a) by twisting the nuts (5) | ||
| 7 | Remove screws (3) alternately | ||
| 8 | Lower rear axle crossmember (1) until it is free of tension by loosening nuts (5) | Otherwise this can lead to paint damage and corrosion on the rear axle cross member (1). |

| 9 | Remove threaded rods (4) from body | ||
| 10 | Unscrew nuts (6) and remove washers | ||
| 11 | Pull out screws (7) and remove rear axle crossmember (1) from control arms (8, 9) | ||
| Check | |||
| 12 | Check control arm elastomer bearings (8, 9) for damage and wear | If there are problems → Replace appropriate elastomer bearing. |

| Install | |||
| 13 | Position rear axle crossmember (1) on control arms (8, 9) and insert screws (7) | ||
| 14 | Position shims and screw on nuts (6) up to mounting surface | ||
| 15 | Screw threaded rods (4) through bores of rear axle cross member (1) into threaded holes for bolts (2) | ||
| 16 | Screw nuts (5) onto threaded rods (4) up to mounting surface of rear axle crossmember (1) on the body | When positioning rear axle crossmember (1) on body, ensure that guide pins (10) are inserted into the body's corresponding threaded holes. |

| 17 | Tighten bolts (3) | *BA35.10-P-1001-03B | |
| 18 | Remove threaded rods (4) from body | ||
| 19 | Tighten bolts (2) | *BA35.10-P-1001-03B | |
| 20 | Lower vehicle with vehicle lift | ||
| 21 | Counterhold nuts (6) and tighten screws (7) | Otherwise there may be initial damage caused by elastomer bearing tension on the control arms (8, 9). |
