Mirrorlink® Function - GF82.85-P-2033KJ

MODEL 453.0/3/4

with CODE 535 (smart Media system)

Function requirement

The MirrorLink® function makes it possible to combine the functions of a smartphone with the Smart Media System. The smartphone is connected with the Smart Media System via the multimedia connection unit using a USB connecting cable. If a smartphone has been connected to the smart media system, the user interface of the smartphone is mirrored on the touchscreen (A40/3p1) of the smart radio multimedia navigator (A40/3) and all smartphone functions can be operated via the smart media system touchscreen and the multimedia operating unit (N24).

MirrorLink® makes it possible for any program applications that are installed on the smartphone to be displayed via the Smart Media System, whereby MirrorLink® uses the software installed on the smartphone in combination with the hardware of the Smart Media System for audio output. MP3 data that is stored on the smartphone, for example, can be played back via the sound system (vehicles with code 810 (Sound system)) and the speaker system of the smart media system. Also, calls can be made via the hands-free system microphone (B25/12) of the smart media system and the phone book of the mobile phone can be called up via the touchscreen of the smart radio multimedia navigator. An Internet connection can also be set up via the smartphone using MirrorLink® and the programs therefore operated and displayed via the touchscreen. An additional function requirement for this is that the vehicle is stationary (parking brake actuated). Navigation apps installed on the smartphone can also be operated and used via the Smart Media System with MirrorLink®. MirrorLink® uses the internal GPS antenna of the smartphone for locating the position of the vehicle for this. The voice commands are read in via the hands-free system microphone. Audio output takes place via the speaker system of the smart media system or via the sound system (with code 810 (Sound system)) of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT Additional information on the connection of the smartphone via MirrorLink® to the smart media system and for operation of the individual functions can be found in the operator's manual.
