| 1 | Secure liftgate (3) with suitable support | ||
| 2 | Lift lower retainer (2) with screwdriver (4), and remove pneumatic spring (1) from roof pillar | Do not remove lower retainer (2). Otherwise the tension on the lower retainer (2) can be lost. |

| 3 | Lift upper retainer (2) with screwdriver (4), and detach and remove pneumatic spring (1) from liftgate (3) | Do not remove upper retainer (2). Otherwise the tension on the upper retainer (2) can be lost. |
