VCS [SBS], general 

The individual functions of the driver information system are called up and operated via the voice control system (VCS [SBS]). The VCS [SBS] is integrated into the smart radio multimedia navigator. The VCS [SBS] can be operated by spelling out or entering complete words.

The VCS [SBS] is activated or deactivated using the voice control system ON button on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL):

The control signal of the voice control system ON button is forwarded via the following components to the smart radio multimedia navigator:

• Steering wheel clock spring contact
• Audio gateway control unit
• Interior CAN

The voice input takes place via the hands-free system microphone, which is connected to the smart radio multimedia navigator via direct lines. The spoken words are converted into an electrical signal by the hands-free system microphone and forwarded to the smart radio multimedia navigator.
