Function requirements, general
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Interior illumination power supply activated by center SAM control unit
The interior illumination power supply (circuit 30 secured and timed) is made available by the vehicle interior fuse and relay module (F2).
From model year 2015 to model year 2016, model 453.3/4 left-hand drive vehicles with code ICLA (passion), code ICVA (prime), code ICTA (proxy), code P88 (Edition 1) or code ICBA (BRABUS) have a front interior lamp with only one reading lamp installed on the front passenger side. In model 453.0, model 453.3/4 right-hand drive vehicles and model 453.3/4 left-hand drive vehicles as from model year 2016, with the previously-mentioned codes, an interior lamp with two reading lamps is always installed.
Manual interior lights control in general
The manual interior lights control makes it possible to manually switch the interior illumination on and off.
Function sequence for manual interior lights control
If the switch for the respective interior illumination is moved to the "Manual interior lights control" position when the power supply is activated, power is switched through to the respective component.
In vehicles with code ICPA (Standard equipment) the following interior illumination components are switched on or off manually by operating the front dome lamp switch:
- Front interior lamp in the front dome lamp
In vehicles as of model year 2015 with code ICLA (passion), code ICVA (prime), code ICTA (proxy), code P88 (Edition 1) or code ICBA (BRABUS) the following interior illumination components are switched on or off manually by operating the front interior lamp switch:
- Front interior lamp in the front dome lamp with reading lamps
Similarly, in vehicles with code ICLA (passion), code ICVA (prime), code ICTA (proxy) or code P88 (Edition 1), the following lamps can also be switched on in the front dome lamp with reading lamps:
- Left front reading lamp via the left front reading lamp switch (only model 453.0 and 453.3/4 right-hand drive vehicles or 453.3/4 left-hand drive vehicles as from model year 2016)
- Right front reading lamp via the right front reading lamp switch
The following components of the interior illumination in rear (model 453.0) are switched on or off manually by operating the rear dome lamp switch:
- Rear compartment lamp in the rear dome lamp
If the key is removed and the vehicle is unlocked (vehicle doors closed), the interior lights control can be manually activated for t ≤ 4 minutes, i.e. the interior illumination is supplied with voltage for t ≤ 4 minutes.
A manually activated interior lights control is automatically deactivated t ≥ 2 minutes after the vehicle is locked by the center SAM control unit.
