Separate A-Pillar Outer Section - Ar63.20-P-1102-01SR

- Mark separating points on longitudinal member outer shell on entry (3) and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
approx. a = 60 mm
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar outer section (1) and longitudinal member outer shell on entry (3) and cut out (areas B, C, G, H and I).
Cut out spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B).
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar inner section (5) and cut out (areas F 1
, F 2
and F 3
).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas F 2 and F 3 ).
- Expose MIG solder seam on A- pillar inner section (5) and grind off (area F 4 ).
- Remove A-pillar inner section (5), A-pillar outer section (1) and longitudinal member outer shell on entry (3).
- Holes cut out
(areas E1 and E 2 ).
Bend mating surfaces toward front in area E1 and E2 so that it is possible to grind the insides down flat. Coat insides of spot weld flange with zinc dust paint and reposition mating surfaces in area E 1 and E2 .
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the crosshatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the crosshatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
