The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

- Mark separating points on A-pillar end plate (1) and cut (area D).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
a = 60 mm
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar end plate (1) and cut out (areas A, B and C).
- Remove A-pillar end plate (1).
- Grind off MIG solder seam on suspension strut tower (2) (area H).
- Expose spot welds on suspension strut tower (2) and cut out (areas E, F, G and J).
- Remove suspension strut tower (2).
- Grind off MIG solder seam on longitudinal member end plate (3) (area K).

- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member end plate (3) and cut out (areas I, L, M, N1
, N2
, O and P).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area P).
- Remove longitudinal member end plate (3).
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (4) and cut out (area Q).
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (4) and cut out (area R).

- Remove longitudinal member (4).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
