General note on use of 2-component acoustic filler foam following repairs - AH60.00-P-0033-01RQ

After finishing repair, the acoustic padding foam serves for sealing and soundproofing in special vehicle hollow cavities (e.g. vehicle floor, longitudinal members).

Use of this acoustic padding foam enables the sealing and soundproofing to correspond to that of series production.

The acoustic padding foam has been tested and approved, and it can be introduced through the given holes (openings).

The following preconditions must be guaranteed when using filling foam:

• The surface must be protected against corrosion, i.e. with catholic immersion paint finish or paintwork structure.
• The surface must be clean, free from grease, oil, mold release agent and other substances which impair the adhesion of foam to the surface. Exception: In the area of points which are not protected against corrosion (e.g. weld seam) a partial preservation before introducing the foam is required.

• Additional cavity preservation with wax is possible after an hour.
• Subsequent operations in the area of the foam-protected cavities which produce an increased thermal load (e.g. welding) are not permissible.

• The usability of the cavity or the vehicle must be guaranteed after foaming.
• The escape of foam in visible areas after introducing and subsequent curing (expansion 100 to 200%) should be prevented using suitable measures (e.g. masking off breakthroughs).
