Operating instructions for controlling the menu function using the multifunction steering wheel button group
The left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) for a multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design or the menu guidance button group (S4/5) except multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design (not with code K36 (Instrument cluster with color 8.9 cm (3.5") display)), can be used to display various menu levels in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1):
- The Scroll forward button (S110s1) or Scroll back button (S110s4) for a multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design or the Scroll forward button (S4/5s1) except multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design can be used within a menu to scroll in the submenu or lists.
- The "O.K." button. (S110s7) for multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design or OK button (S4/5s2) except multifunction steering wheel in 3-spoke design can be used to confirm each selection or pending message.
All the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel button group are always installed. However the available functions depend on the equipment of the vehicle.

- "Messages and service" menu
- "Settings" menu
"Messages and service" menu
The following messages can be called up in the menu "Messages and service":
- Display messages
- Service interval indicator
"Settings" menu
Changes to the following settings can be made in the "Settings" menu:
- "Time" only in combination with code 537 (smart audio system)
With code 535 (smart media system), the time is adjusted using the smart radio multimedia navigator and synchronized with the instrument cluster. Detailed information on this topic is contained in a separate document "Smart media system component description".
- "Display"
- "Ambiance illumination"
- "Tire pressure monitoring"
- "Language"
In addition, the following displays can be called up/set:
- Display total distance and trip distance.
- Show or reset trip computer "After start"
- Show or reset trip computer "After reset"
