Risk of injury
Injector cleaner contains 3 % potassium hydroxide. Upon contact or if swallowed there is a risk of skin and severe eye irritations.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Wear alkali-resistant protective clothing (apron, protective gloves) as well as tight-sealing safety glasses. Observe safety regulations!
- Ensure sufficient ventilation of the workstation, especially in enclosed spaces.
- Avoid all contact with eyes and skin.
- Do not eat or drink while performing this work.
- Keep injector cleaner away from food and beverages.
Disposal
- Do not allow DECON 90 to get into the environment. Observe disposal regulations.
First-aid measures
In case of ingestion
- Rinse mouth with water, drink plenty of water and consult a physician immediately. Vomiting concentrated solution should be avoided. Should vomiting occur anyway, the head of the patient must be kept low to prevent the vomit from entering the windpipe.
In case of eye contact
- Rinse thoroughly with water or eye wash solution for 15 min, remove contact lenses if possible, hold eyelids as wide open as possible with both hands and consult an eye doctor immediately.
After inhaling atomized spray or vapors
- Move the affected person into the fresh air and consult a physician immediately.
In case of skin contact
- Clean immediately with plenty of soap and water, washing for 15 minutes. First remove wetted clothing. Consult a physician if skin irritation occurs. Skin damage can still become visible hours later.
