Notes on handling refrigerant R1234yf - AH83.30-P-0003-02A

MODEL 176, 231, 246 A/C with refrigerant R1234yf 

The refrigerant R1234y is colorless and odorless.

At normal temperatures it is not toxic. Refrigerant R1234yf is inflammable and in certain mixing ratios with air it is combustible. The refrigerant R1234yf may only be used in air conditioning systems that are approved for the refrigerant R1234yf.

The refrigerant R1234yf may not be mixed with other refrigerants (e.g. R134a).

The refrigerant R1234yf does not contain any chlorofluorocarbons (CFC). The refrigerant R1234yf does not damage the earth's ozone layer.

Despite these benefits, refrigerant R1234yf may only be extracted by experts with suitable extraction, recycling and filling equipment that includes integral disposal and reprocessing capabilities. Contaminated refrigerant 1234yf may not be extracted using the A/C service device. Special aids are to be used that may only be used for extracting the contaminated refrigerant from the A/C system.
