Remove/install air conditioner housing - AR83.30-P-5200MCE

MODEL 451.3## (except 451.39) 2#, 451.4## (except 451.49) 2# 

with CODE I01 (Air conditioning Plus)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Do not perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Procedure for a damaged or leaky air conditioning system   AH83.30-N-0004-01A

IMPORTANT Notes on handling refrigerant R134a   AH83.30-N-0003-01A
1 Remove front CBS   AR88.00-P-1010MCC
2 Drain air conditioning system INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Evacuate air conditioning and then fill it. AR83.30-P-1760MCC 
3 Disconnect fully automatic air conditioning service station    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 82 00 Air conditioning service unit   WS83.00-P-0031B 
4 Remove front module   AR62.30-P-1575MCC
5 Drain coolant Model 451.3## (except 451.39) 2#, 451.4## (except 451.49) 2# with engine 132.9 with code I01 (Air conditioning Plus) AR20.00-P-1142MCC
6 Unscrew nut (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, refrigerant lines to expansion valve *BA83.30-P-1004-01L 
7 Pull out refrigerant lines (3) at expansion valve (1) and remove seal rings of refrigerant lines (3)    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Compressor oils (specification 362.0) NOTES Seal refrigerant lines (3) and expansion valve (1) with suitable stop plugs.
Otherwise, ingressing dirt and moisture may damage the components connected to the refrigerant circuit.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings on refrigerant lines (3) and wet with compressor oil when inserting.

8 Loosen click clamps (5) on coolant hoses (4) and detach coolant hoses (4) IMPORTANT Collect any escaping coolant in a suitable container.  
9 Remove crossmember below dashboard   AR62.30-P-1250MCE
10 Disconnect heating or A/C electrical connector (X85/10)    
11 Place left front floor covering in area of air conditioner housing (6) to one side    
12 Remove bolt (12) and place vertical strut (11) to one side TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, vertical strut to center tunnel *BA62.30-P-1003-02B 
13 Detach condensation drain hose (13) from air conditioner housing (6) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that condensation drain hose (13) is correctly aligned and latched at the air conditioner housing (6) connection.  
14 Remove electrical connection (10) from accelerator pedal sensor (B37) and release retaining clip (9)    
15 Unclip retaining clips (15) of main wiring harness (14) on air conditioner housing (6)    
16 Unscrew nuts (7) from air conditioner housing (6)    
17 Remove air conditioner housing (6) from vehicle NOTES Make sure that the vehicle interior is not soiled by escaping coolant.
Contaminated parts must be cleaned or replaced.
 
18 Disconnect electrical connector from air recirculation flap actuator motor (M39) When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
19 Loosen air recirculation unit (19) with spacer (8) from air conditioner housing (6) by twisting and remove When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
20 Disconnect electrical connector, remove bolts, and remove blend air flap actuator (M16/8) When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Counterhold driver shaft on opposite side of air conditioner housing (6).
 
21 Disconnect electrical connector and pull evaporator temperature sensor (B10/6) out of air conditioner housing (6) When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
22 Disconnect electrical connector (16), release lock (18), then detach blower motor (M2) by turning counterclockwise and pull out of air conditioner housing (6) When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
23 Disconnect electrical connector (17), then release blower motor series resistor group (R14) by twisting clockwise and remove When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
24 Detach air conditioner housing wiring harness (20) from air conditioner housing (6) and remove When replacing the air conditioner housing (6).  
25 Remove heat exchanger When replacing the air conditioner housing (6). AR83.20-P-1100MCE
26 Replace activated charcoal fine particle filter When replacing the air conditioner housing (6). AP83.00-P-8384MCC 
27 Install in the reverse order
