Risk of injury 

If the temperature is too high when working with plastic, burns may occur at skin and eyes.

Risk of poisoning 

When working with plastic, vapors may be generated that lead to symptoms of poisoning such as coughing, headache, dizziness and nausea. Moreover, irritation may occur to the respiratory paths and eyes.

Safety precautions/instructions 

• Work only in well ventilated rooms.
• Avoid overheating the plastic.
• Do not inhale the vapors that might be set free.
• Avoid contact with liquefied material.
• Wear safety glasses and protective gloves.

First-aid measures 

In case of eye or skin contact:

• Rinse contact area immediately with plenty of cold water.
• Treat affected area like burn wound. Do not remove any burned-in parts yourself.
• Contact physician or medical service.

When vapor is inhaled:

• Take the injured person out into the fresh air immediately.
• Keep the injured person calm and cover with a blanket.
• Contact physician or medical service.
