Determine the oil mass before the measuring drive and note down the kilometer reading

Place the vehicle on an even, horizontal surface.
Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
Temperature of engine oil 80 °C or 176 °F
Fill the engine oil level up to maximum.
Drain the engine oil and collect it in a clean container.
Weigh the vessel with the engine oil.
Note down the mass (m ₁ ) of the filled container, with the kilometer reading (s ₁ ) on the "Engine analysis sheet" form.
Pour the engine oil from the container into the engine.
Measuring drive
Perform measuring drive.
1000 km trip by customer.

Calculate oil consumption:

Oil density ( = 0.85 kg/l)

Measurement distance (s_mess ) = kilometer reading (s2) - kilometer reading (s1)

Depending on driving style, the engine consumes up to 0.8 liters of oil per 1000 kilometers.
