Remove/install fuel metering pump - AR83.70-P-5652EW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and Risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
2 Remove bolt (1)    
3 Lift right underfloor paneling (2) to side until stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) is accessible    
4 Disconnect electrical connector (3)    
5 Pinch off fuel hoses (4) with clamping devices (5) SPECIAL TOOL Fig 2
6 Remove fuel hoses (4) from stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) IMPORTANT Collect fuel which runs out in a suitable container.
IMPORTANT Installation: Ensure that fuel hoses (4) are seated tightly and do no leak.
 
7 Unscrew nut (6) and remove bracket (7) with stationary heater fuel pump (Y23)    
8 Remove bracket (7) from stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) IMPORTANT Installation: Observe installation direction for stationary heater fuel pump (Y23).  
9 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel vapors igniting, Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling combustible gases and risk of injury  caused by burns during and after operation of heater unit Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves. AS83.70-Z-0002-01A
10 Carry out initial startup of stationary heater using STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT If the stationary heater switches off automatically before reaching its operating temperature and cannot be restarted again, a fault interlock is present. This fault interlock can be canceled using STAR DIAGNOSIS.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
