Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment - AR40.20-P-0260SX

INSPECT Check     
1 Check condition of vehicle IMPORTANT For the wheel alignment check all vehicle parts must be installed and the vehicle build completed ready to drive. The vehicle must not be loaded. The specified values for the vehicle are provided based on the actual values determined by the dimensional check system.
The specified tolerances of vehicle specified values are only for the test. If the vehicle is adjusted, the specified values should be aimed for.
 
2 Print out form for wheel alignment check If necessary when an optical chassis alignment is carried out.

3 Check tires for wear pattern, depth of tread and damage IMPORTANT Perform visual inspection.  
4 Check rims for damage IMPORTANT Perform visual inspection.  
5 Check tire pressure and correct if necessary    
6 Check vehicle underside for damage, corrosion of suspension parts, chassis parts and supporting body parts, leaks from major assemblies and lines IMPORTANT Perform visual inspection.  
7.1 Raise front axle and check wheel bearing play without dial indicator Except MODEL 197
7.2 Raise vehicle at side at jack support point and check wheel bearing play without dial indicator MODEL 197
NOTES Do not raise vehicle at front or rear axle. Otherwise the axles may be damaged.
 
8 Check condition of steering mechanism MODEL 117, 156, 166, 169, 171, 172, 176, 190, 197, 203, 204, 205, 207, 209, 211, 212, 215, 216, 217, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222, 230, 231, 242, 245, 246

12 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake    
13 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms    
14.1 Raise vehicle level and then lower again Vehicle with Active Body Control (ABC) or air suspension.  
14.2 Rock vehicle to settle suspension on front and rear axles several times Vehicle with steel suspension.
