MODEL 212 with CODE 477 (tire pressure loss warning system)
The driver information for the tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system is output via the instrument cluster (A1).
A distinction is made between the following:
- Menu displays
- Warning messages
The menu displays can be called up in the instrument cluster via the tire pressure loss warning menu.
The warning messages appear automatically.
Menu display 1
The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system is only available after "circuit 15 ON".
Menu display 2
Normal status of tire pressure loss warning system.
Menu display 3
Operation feedback after manual restart.
Menu display 4
The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) is nonfunctional.
Possible causes are:
- Sensor fault in Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS), except CODE 990 (AMG vehicles), except hybrid), in the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/7) (with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or with CODE 990 (AMG vehicles), except Hybrid) or in the regenerative braking system control unit (N30/6) (for hybrid)
- Undefinable or no signal over chassis CAN (CAN E) (up to model year 2014) or over chassis CAN (CAN E1) (as of model year 2014)
Warning message 1
Tire pressure loss warning without position specification.
If there is a significant pressure loss, the warning message appears after the vehicle has been driven for a few minutes.
Warning message 2
Reminder message in the event of an ignition restart following tire pressure loss warning. The message is repeated each time the ignition is switched on, provided that the tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system has not been restarted.
Warning message 3
The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) is nonfunctional.
Possible causes are:
- Sensor fault in Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS), except CODE 990 (AMG vehicles), except hybrid), in the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/7) (with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or with CODE 990 (AMG vehicles), except Hybrid) or in the regenerative braking system control unit (N30/6) (for hybrid)
