  1. Place wheel carrier (3) on workshop press.

Use two parallel gauges as supports.

  2. Insert stamp (4) into angular contact ball bearing (6).

  5. Reposition wheel carrier (3) on workshop press.

To press out the angular contact ball bearing, place the wheel carrier (3) on the screws/bolts (2).

  6. Press the old angular contact ball bearing out of the wheel carrier (3) using the stamp (5).

Do not yet dispose of the angular contact ball bearing because it will be used as a press-in tool.

  8. Position wheel carrier (3), new angular contact ball bearing (6n) and old angular contact ball bearing (6) on workshop press.

Make sure that the angular contact ball bearing (6n) is installed at the correct position. If incorrectly fitted, the rpm sensor will not detect any pulse signals.

The pulse ring (encoder) for the rpm sensor is integrated in the new angular contact ball bearing (6n). The points, the "Inside" inscription or the black inner ring on the angular contact ball bearing (6n) must point toward the inside of the wheel carrier (3). The marking is manufacturer specific. The magnetic side of the angular contact ball bearing (6n) must point toward the inside of the wheel carrier (3). Note different size of angular contact ball bearings. For angular contact ball bearing with Ø 90 mm, use washer 116 589 11 61 05 from insertion device. For angular contact ball bearings with Ø 92 mm, use a drift.

  9. Press new angular contact ball bearing (6n) into wheel carrier (3) up to contact surface.

    Use parallel gauge (7).

The new angular contact ball bearing (6n) is pressed in using the old angular contact ball bearing (6).

The new angular contact ball bearing (6) is seated correctly when the pressure indicated on the workshop press display increases constantly.
