Press out
Press rubber mount (1) out towards chamfered side of strut rod (2).
For model 212, 218 extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 01 (3) must be used.

For model 172, 204, 207 extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 02 (3) must be used.

For all models

extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 03 (4),

hydraulic hose 652 589 00 33 23 (6),

hand pump 652 589 00 33 21 and

the hollow-piston cylinder 001 589 51 33 00 (5) must be used.
Check bearing seat in torque strut (2).

Should the bearing seat have clearly noticeable scores, the torque strut (2) should be replaced.

Model 212, 218 rubber mount (1) with hole in shape of rounded three-pointed star

Press in
Attach chamfered side of rubber mount (1) to chamfered side of strut rod (2).
Align marking of rubber mount (A) with marking of strut rod (B). Align bearing core marking (C) with ball head.

Generally, the rubber mount (1) is to be positioned in the strut rod (2) such that, in the installation position for the strut rod (2), the marking for the rubber mount (A) faces down and the marking for the bearing core (C) outwards (wheel side).
Press rubber mount (1) up to end stop in the strut rod (2).
For model 212, 218 extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 01 (3) must be used.

For model 172, 204, 207 extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 02 (3) must be used.

For all models

extraction and insertion tool 212 589 00 43 03 (4),

hydraulic hose 652 589 00 33 23 (6),

hand pump 652 589 00 33 21 and

the hollow-piston cylinder 001 589 51 33 00 (5) must be used.
