- Place cutting template (1), as shown, on instrument panel upper section (3) and draw on separating point (broken line).
Make sure that the cutting template (1) is seated correctly. Incorrect seating can otherwise later result in an incorrect fit of the head-up display module.
Fix cutting template (1) in place using adhesive tape if required.
- Remove cutting template (1).
- Cut instrument panel upper section (3) at marked positions (broken line) using a knife.
Be very careful when cutting.
The instrument panel upper section (3) can be damaged if the knife slips, and will then have to be replaced.
- Remove material from lower hatched area of instrument panel upper section (3) using a suitable tool until plastic of instrument panel upper section (3) is visible.
Be extremely careful when removing the material. The instrument panel upper section (3) can be damaged if the tool slips, and will then have to be replaced.
- Completely cut out upper marked part of instrument panel upper section (3) using oscillating saw (13).
- Break cutting edges and remove any burr and chips.
- Using a file, remove approx. 15 mm from marked area (arrow).
- Clean surface of instrument panel upper part (3) in area of installation location for head-up display module.
The bonding surface must be clean and free of grease. Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- Place template (5) for positioning head-up display module, as shown, on instrument panel upper section (3).
Check that the template (5) is correctly seated.
Incorrect seating can otherwise result in an incorrect fit of the head-up display module.
- Attach adhesive strips on the contact surfaces (6) of the head-up display module (2).
Do not place the head-up display module (2) directly onto the mirror.
Otherwise the surface of the mirror can get damaged.
Attach adhesive strips on the complete contact surface (6).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- Connect electrical connection (1.4) with head-up display module (2).
Route head-up display wiring harness (1) behind the guide eyelet (15).
Otherwise the mechanism of head-up display (2) can get affected.
- Fasten head-up display wiring harness (1) using cable tie (20) to head-up display module (2).
The head-up display wiring harness (1) has to be fastened using a cable tie (20) to the head-up display module (2).
Otherwise, the impact safety of the head-up display module (2) may be impaired.
- Cut off any excess cable tie (20) length.

- Pull off the protective foils on adhesive strips on the head-up display module (2).
- Position head-up display module (2) in template (5), as shown, and bond to instrument panel upper part (3).
All kinds of mechanical stress must be avoided during the first 24 hours. Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
When pressing on, press directly on adhesive strips on head-up display module (2). The maximum adhesive strength is only reached after approx. 72 h at 20 °C.
- Remove the template (5) from the upper part of the instrument panel (3).
- Clean mirror on head-up display module (2) using suitable cloth.
