Torque distribution in transfer case
The double planet gear set (3) acts as a planet gear differential between the front and rear axle via which the engine torque is distributed.
The gear ratio is designed so that 55% of the engine torque is transmitted to the rear axle and 45% is transmitted to the front axle.
