Check AdBlue® concentration - AR14.40-P-2041GZB

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of burn injuries and scalding  when working at AdBlue® lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue®. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing AdBlue® Fill AdBlue® only into suitable containers. Wait until pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.   AS14.40-Z-0001-01A
1.1 Attach rear fender protector and expose filler opening of the AdBlue® tank in the cargo area Except model 463
Fender and rear apron protector
 
1.2 Open filler opening on AdBlue® tank filler neck; to do this loosen clamp and detach hose MODEL 463
NOTES Ensure utmost cleanliness. Cover filler opening on AdBlue® tank filler neck over a large area with a number of layer of absorbent hard copy to prevent damage occurring to the paintwork.
 
2 Adjust refractometer (5) to determine the AdBlue® concentration BLUETEC measurement AR14.40-P-2041-01GZB 
3 Remove a small amount of AdBlue® from the AdBlue® tank using the siphon    
NOTES Notes on use, material properties and handling of AdBlue®   AH14.40-N-0001-01AB
4 Place 1 to 2 drops of AdBlue® on the prism (1) of the refractometer (5) NOTES Only prism (1) and hinged lid (2) may come into contact with AdBlue® otherwise AdBlue® can find its way into the interior of the refractometer (5) and make it unusable. The refractometer (5) is very sensitive to impacts and scratching.
IMPORTANT Closing hinged lid (2) causes the AdBlue® to be distributed evenly.
 
5 Look through the eyepiece (4) against a light background. IMPORTANT Bring scales into focus by turning the eyepiece (4).  
INSPECT Checking     
6 Read off measurement at the light-dark boundary on the AdBlue® scale (B) AdBlue® urea content
IMPORTANT If the AdBlue® concentration is too low, empty the AdBlue® tank and replace the AdBlue®: ↓
Empty, fill AdBlue tank

CLEAN Clean     
7 Carefully remove any AdBlue® from the prism (1) and hinged lid (2) NOTES Only prism (1) and hinged lid (2) may come into contact with liquid otherwise liquid can find its way into the interior of the refractometer (5) and make it unusable.
IMPORTANT Only use water without any additive as a cleaning agent.
 
INSTALLING Install     
8.1 Install exposed detachable parts over the AdBlue® tank in the cargo area Except model 463  
8.2 Place hose on AdBlue® tank filler neck and tighten clamp MODEL 463
IMPORTANT To remove layers applied to the filler opening on the AdBlue® tank filler neck.
