Partially remove upper front longitudinal member - AR62.20-P-1287-01EW

Dimension: 

  1. Scribe separation point on upper front longitudinal member (1) (area A).
  2. Cut upper front longitudinal member (1) at separation point (area A).

    IMPORTANT Do not damage components below.

  3. Expose spot welds on upper front longitudinal member (1) (areas B and C).
  4. Cut out spot welds on upper front longitudinal member (1) (areas B and C).
  5. Heat upper front longitudinal member (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  6. Remove damaged front upper longitudinal member (1).
  7. Grind mating surfaces on body down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove shavings and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint to prevent adhesion problems (areas B1 and C1 ).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
