Install front crankshaft radial seal - AR03.20-P-3000-01MM

Deburr edge of mounting hole for the crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) on timing case cover.
Push crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) onto the side (a) of the sleeve (2).
Circumference and sealing lip of crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) as well as the mating surface on the vibration damper/belt pulley (8) must be free of oil and grease.

Align groove for sleeve (2) to Woodruff key (4) in the crankshaft (1).
Turn to ensure that groove in the sleeve (2) matches with the Woodruff key (4) in the crankshaft (1).
Push sleeve (2) onto crankshaft (1) and press in radial shaft sealing ring (5) by about 2 mm.
If necessary, knock in sleeve (2) with light blows from a hammer until it is possible to insert the center bolt (3).

Draw in sleeve (2) with center bolt (3) as far as the stop.
Detach sleeve (2).
The radial shaft sealing ring (5) must stand at right angles to the crankshaft journal.

There will be no perfect sealing achieved otherwise.
Turn sleeve (2) and push onto the crankshaft (1) with side of repair stage 1 (b).
Repair stage 1 (b) is marked by a 3 mm wide shoulder on the contact surface.

Turn to ensure that groove in the sleeve (2) matches with the Woodruff key (4) in the crankshaft (1).
Draw in sleeve (2) with center bolt (3) as far as the stop.
Detach sleeve (2).
Check installation position of the radial shaft sealing ring (5) relative to the crankshaft journal.
The radial shaft sealing ring (5) must stand at right angles to the crankshaft journal.

There will be no perfect sealing achieved otherwise.

The installation depth (B) of the crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) is preset through the sleeve (2) and must not be altered subsequently.
